What is Art to You?

What is Art? Art is a creative process to show an image. Art is a powerful creation that is made by the author. The process to Art: idea/subject, the materials used, color, line, shapes and the feeling it gives to a person. The idea comes from the mind or within a person's heart. This leads to the subject whether it’s a human, car, rock or a shoe string. The materials could be anything from watercolor, chalk, ink, paper, shells, marbles, or leaves. The material used can create lines, shapes and color of the object. The feeling comes when the picture is finished. Ask yourself what you feel when looking at a finished art piece. Think about the creation of life in this world. Everything has a shape & color and it gives off a feeling in the mind because a person uses all 5 senses of the human body.

All great artists had some type of idea of what they want the viewer to see and not to see in a portrait. Art to me has to have a meaning and the way it makes a person feel on the inside. My favorite picture is Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam feature in the Sistine Chapel, on the ceiling. Michelangelo is one of the greatest artists that ever lived and known to many people. Art will forever be a building block that will influence  generations to come.
